THE VARELA CAMPAIGN CAUGHT
Stephen Varela has run his campaign requiring explanations for every facet of his life. Most notably, he forgot he voted for Biden in 2020. He told the public he did not change his party affiliation 18 times, but admitted potentially he had changed it, at most, 4 times.
The Colorado GOP requested an audit log of the voter registration from the Secretary of State’s office and received a redacted version (shown below) within 3 days. You’ll note the redacted portion is WHO requested the change to the registration.
Varela’s campaign publicly posted letter on his website (posted below) claiming that Varela sent this letter to the Secretary of State’s office asking for an inquiry into his voter registration. The campaign asserted they requested a formal audit of his unredacted Voter registration log in February. However, as of May 13th, campaign manager Bernie Lake stated, “Jena won’t do it.”
According to the first-hand recorded call between the Secretary of State employee, Alonit Katzman, and GOP Vice-Chair, Hope Scheppelman, we know this letter was never sent. The audio recording is linked below in its entirety. Ms. Katzman and Mrs. Scheppelman are heard in the following exchange:
Katzman: “This information for Stephen Varela and the easy answer is he didn’t request the information from us...”
Scheppelman: “Okay, okay. So did he send that letter, I have a letter...
Katzman: “We did not receive a letter. We never received a letter… so he has not been provided any… you know…. Yes, there was not a letter ever sent to us, so we have not provided any of the information stated.”
Scheppelman: “Could it have been that it was sent it to elections... because on that letter.” (muffled) Katzman: “We have checked all of our messages.”
Scheppelman: “So email boxes and all the things...”
Katzman: “We have never received any request from him.”
Scheppelman: “IF he were to provide the letter requesting, he would receive the document unredacted correct.”
Katzman: “He has the right to that information”

Stephen Varela and his campaign never requested the audit log. Furthermore, when citizens asked about the request Varela claimed to have made in February, they were labeled “Deep State Soros Democrats”.
The Hanks campaign had been prepared to demand legal action on behalf of Stephen Varela, as manipulation of your voter registration is a crime.
